Heh! I remember seeing a documentary a few years ago about landsides and there were a couple of dudes in a pickup that actually happened to. The landside actually chased them down the road. They were okay BTW as they were able to outrun it in their truck. But the guy in the bed of the truck was really screaming for the driver to haul ass the whole time.

If I was the guy in the bed if that truck, I'd have assumed the crash position: Tuck your head between your legs and kiss your ass goodbye.
