I also remember some like fairytale-esque horror(?) movie with a horse that was also like part-spider swallowed a character whole, and they vividly showed the innards and the motions from outside and I know that had an effect on me too.

wow! that was the exact clip I was thinking of when you described it! I only remember that movie specifically for the scene where some kind of mud creature from a well steals someone's face before dragging them away, which was truely horrifying!

WAIT WHAT, that's that movie, I've only ever seen that one clip before, It was horrify, and that's coming from a caricature who enjoys turning humans into mutilated piles of flesh

@Kiota
Interesting similarity but there is also an interesting difference. All the media I saw included prey being completely safe, escaping, or a gutted pred. I was repulsed because for me vore is about brutality, dominance, and savoring a horrific slow death. I’ve broadened my tastes since then but I’m still touchy when too much wholesomeness is pushed onto me

Oddly I was never repulsed by safe vore but I absolutely always preferred digestion even if in the media I watched it never happened. Also same, for me as prey if I am going to be meat why would I come out unscathed? I want to digest, and I love when it's not kosher!

Okay.. This might be a long one. I've thought a lot about all the things that led me into this stuff. It's been an interesting journey so far.

The earliest vore-adjacent memory I have is watching a specific episode from an old possibly obscure cartoon when I was about four years old. Basically the show was about this cartoon bear, who could get really strong from eating something, I don't remember what. The episode was about that bear getting eaten by either a dragon or a dinosaur, and him being stuck inside it's mouth, while the rest of the episode was the sidekicks trying to get him out before he gets swallowed.

I was so scared of that episode. I especially remember that I had to close my eyes whenever the actual eating scene happened. Ever since I saw that episode, vore was a genuine fear of mine. It didn't help that SO MANY other cartoons had similar stuff going on for some reason. I still don't get why. But as I was exposed to vore-related stuff more and more, something started to change. It slowly transformed. At first it wast a fear, but then I started getting kinda morbidly curious about it. As years went by, the strong feelings of fear and such began turning into strong feelings of excitement.

Eventually it just got to a point, where I realised I like this stuff. I began imagining all these different scenarios of dragons and such eating each other in weird ways. I even ended up fleshing out an entire world, that revolved around vore. I never told anyone about it, but I got pretty close. I'm glad I ended up keeping it a secret. To this day I still don't know what I'd do if people found this out about me.

That continued for a few years, never actually knowing the word for it, or that it was a fetish (no idea how I missed that). It was until I discovered a certain enemy from a video game: great jagras from Moster Hunter. I didn't care for the actual game, but i really liked that enemy, and that alone got me looking at more stuff not just about the jagras, but the game in general in the hopes of seeing something similar.

I ended up in the comments of a specific video. It was a MH fan animation, that was this parody of a childrens book, but with the great jagras eating a bunch of other enemies in the game. I liked to rewatch that video a lot, not quite realising why. Then I read a specific comment, that changed everything. The comment was something along the lines of:
"It's sad that this is p*rn for some people"
Also from the replies i found out about the word 'vore'. I was quite devastated by that, and it got me feeling ashamed of this interest. I never bothered looking anymore into it, especially when some other content on Youtube made me believe all vore you could find on the internet were those Deviantart mspaint circle tool things.

Eventually I stumbled upon something, that completely changed the trajectory of my life. On youtube I was watching videos of regular snakes in nature, when suddenly I saw an animation of a snake eating the fursona of the animator. I expected it to be a clip from some obscure cartoon, but no. It was a straight up vore animation. There were more animations on the channel, and even the word 'vore' dropped at a few points. That let me down this whole rabbit hole of vore stuff on youtube. Discovering that there was a whole community for this stuff (that wasn't a few amateur Deviantart posts) blew my mind. I began discovering so many great artists and such making stuff just for this interests. That also properly introduced me to furries. At first I was in a bit of denial about it like "No, I'm not a furry, I just like the vore!", but then I got more interested in the other things in the fandom too.
A couple of years pass, and now I'm here!

Anyways thx for letting me yap, love you all <3

If anyone wants to see any of the videos I mentioned, let me know, I think I can still find them.

Ah, what an excellent question!

Perhaps surprisingly, despite most of my great interests having come from cartoons, probably the most significant influence in developing an interest in vore came from (modern) Doctor Who! I guess when you're dealing with every intergalactic menace under the sun, it's par for the course! There have been quite a few instances of vore on that show over the years, but there was a special handful which particularly stuck with me and really set me down the path - and all of that select handful were particularly odd and exotic! There was a creature who absorbed everyone they touched, leaving their victims only as talking faces stuck onto its body, an enormous alien brain in a vat which swallowed a guy who got pushed onto it, and a dalek which needed to evolve into a hybrid dalek-human, so they also swallowed some guy! I'm not sure what it was about these particular examples which really got to me, but I certainly think the oddness was a big factor. Imagining the slimy texture of the brain and the dalek was also a big thing!
There were other influences beyond Doctor Who as well. Keeping with the exotic theme, many of these were plant-vore.
Eventually, when I started gravitating towards the furry fandom, I discovered that 'vore' was actually a thing, and the rest is history! ^^
